Moses hath been feeding the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock behind the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God--to Horeb.
God brought Moses down completely, from ‘Pharaoh's palace’ to ‘behind the wilderness’, from ‘being served’ to ‘serving father-in-law’s sheep’- Humiliation, Nothingness, Loss of confidence in self, Loss of all abilities, and Loss of all comforts. In fact the Loss of all things is the way to the Mountain of God to possess God.
“Yes, indeed, I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ”.
When our Lord Jesus was on the cross, He lost everything to gain us. In the same way we too have to lose everything which belongs to our old nature or Adam’s life to gain and possess Him. For this reason the Lord leads His own ‘behind the wilderness’, ‘from palace to the prison’ or ‘suffering the loss of all things’ whatever you may name this experience; but this is the path to possess Him. He empties before He fills; He destroys the self-life before He builds us into His Sanctuary in which He reveals His glory.
All this is to bring us to the place where we love doing HIS WILL above everything else with great joy. Jesus loved doing the Father’s will more than the torment of Gethsemane, the shame and disgrace of Gabbatha, and the torture of Golgotha. When doing the Lord’s will alone - in our thoughts, words and deed, in public and in secret becomes our priority and very life than we attract God’s attention to be possessed by Him. Everything that has been happening in our life whether positive or negative, pleasant or unpleasant is the working of God towards this one thing – we possess Him and He possesses us.
The Holy Spirit will help you with both "willingness" and the ability "to do" His good pleasure.
