He did the same with Sarah, changed her name first from Sarai (my princess, Abraham’s princess) to Sarah (a Princess viz. of multitudes, a mother of nations) and then she brought forth Isaac. Both of them being heads of a small family were transformed and not only made heads of great multitudes and nations, but Abraham is also became "the friend of God" (James 2:23), "faithful Abraham" (Gal 3:9), "the father of us all" (Romans 4:16).
Same thing was done to Jacob. God said, “Thy name shall be called no more Jacob (i.e. supplanter), but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed” (Israel i.e. A prince of God). He was an ordinary person like you and me with a lot of weakness, but God transformed him and gave him the power to overcome and he saw God face to face.
And when Jesus saw Simon, he said, “Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone”. By nature Peter was an unstable person and frequently acting with haste, but Jesus was going to make him firm and consistent like a stone. We see a transformed Peter in the book of Acts.
After being a believer for so long and even walking with God, it is only now that you are at the highest point of your life. All these years God was developing you for this hour. God is about to change your nature in this season. He will bring forth through you His divine plan for which you were created and have been waiting all this time. You were made for this and now your hour has come: The hour of your transformation! Oh, thank you Jesus!! God will birth His purposes through you which will bless the world in a very spectacular way. The glory of the Lord will be revealed in and through you.
God has intended to transform you and nothing can stop Him. If the enemy tries to hinder then God will turn his evil acts into good for you. On one side He will reveal His nature to you and on the other side He will expose your heart to you, so that you will long to become like Him and be filled with Him.
He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely, without price.
God bless you!
